David Fitzsimons is the Director of Waste Economics at Oakdene Hollins.

David Fitzsimons BA MBA

After reading economics at UEA, David worked in the investment arm of NatWest Bank plc before moving to Shanks plc to advise on company acquisitions.
David has an MBA from the London Business School.

Supporting David are Senior Consultants Dr Peter Lee, Steve Slater and Paul Vaughan, Technical Consultants Dan Eatherley and Leigh Robinson, and Technical Researcher Caroline Bartlett.

Peter Lee BEng PhD

Peter completed an engineering apprenticeship at Royal Ordnance and moved from fitting to inspection and quality systems during his ten years there.

He then obtained a first class honours degree in manufacturing systems and a PhD on the influence fluids have on sliding metal surfaces and has been with Oakdene Hollins since May 1998.

Stephen Slater MA

During his career spanning 30 years in engineering and manufacturing, Steve gained an MA in Engineering and Industrial Administration from the University of Cambridge. At Plessey and at ACCO Europe, he held various production management roles leading to Manufacturing Director at ACCO.

Steve has been a consultant and interim manager since 1997, joining Oakdene Hollins in 2001.

Paul Vaughan BA MSc

After a career in accountancy and consulting, Paul was the interim Head of Local Authority Communications Support at WRAP before joining us in 2008.

He has an MSc in Environmental Management for Business from Cranfield and a BA(Hons) from the University of Warwick. His MSc thesis was on the subject of product reuse.

Caroline Bartlett BSc (Hons)

Caroline recently graduated from Bath Spa University with a 2:1 in Environmental Biology.

She has already become an invaluable member of our team, and plans to develop her post-graduate training with a view to joining our team of technical consultants in the future.

Leigh Robinson BEng MAppCom

Leigh joins us from Kraft Foods Australia where he was a project engineer, managing capital expenditure projects on specific product lines.

He has a degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and a Masters in Applied Commerce (Operations Management), both from the University of Melbourne. Leigh has practical experience in delivering savings and waste reduction to the manufacturing sector.

Alastair MacGregor BSc MSc CFA

Alastair’s expertise is in welfare economics and the environment, environmental valuation, natural resource economics, environmental policy, and globalization and the environment.

He has a BSc(Hons) in Chemistry from Newcastle University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. From 2001 to 2007 he was Investment Manager at New Star Asset Management, responsible for investment research for companies and the application of microeconomics to business situations.

In 2008-9 Alastair gained an MSc in Economics for Natural Resource and Environmental Management from Cranfield University.

Peter Willis MSc BSc

Peter joins us from University College London, where his MSc thesis was on the economic costs and benefits of an electrical interconnector between Tasmania and Victoria in Australia.

Also a graduate of LSE, his expertise is in micro- and macro-economics and econometrics, game theory, industrial organisation, policy evaluation, and in computer programming relating to mathematics, statistics and econometrics.
