David Parker is Head of Remanufacturing at Oakdene Hollins.

David Parker MEng MBA MIChemE

After reading chemical engineering at Cambridge, David worked for ICI and DuPont in R&D, production, engineering and business investment evaluation.

David has an MBA from Durham University Business School and has been with Oakdene Hollins since 2001.

Supporting David in the CRR are the recently appointed Director of Development, Kerry Mashford, and Technical Consultants Ben Walsh, Hudai Kara, Caroline Bartlett and Adrian Chapman.

Ben Walsh MSci PhD MRSC

Ben joined us in 2005 from Nottingham University, where he was Business Science Fellow involved with collaboration between industry and academia.

Ben's PhD ('Automated Reactions in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide') followed on from his combined Bachelor/Masters degree in Chemistry. His work at Oakdene Hollins draws on his knowledge of both remanufacturing and nano-technology.

Hudai Kara BSc MSc DPhil MIMMM

Hudai joined our remanufacturing team with a DPhil in Materials (Ceramics) from the University of Oxford. He is a materials scientist and a metallurgist, experienced in the thermodynamic modelling of industrial processes, modelling oxide systems, process development and optimisation, materials characterisation and testing, and technology transfer.

As a recent consultant at Johnson Matthey, Hudai provided technical consultancy services to Anglo Platinum and JM worldwide. He liaised with National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and Mineral Industry Research Organisation (MIRO) on oxide database development for industrial processes.

For the CRR, Hudai has developed an Excel-based remanufacturing opportunity tool and will be looking at carbon impact of various product groups.

Caroline Bartlett BSc (Hons)

Caroline graduated from Bath Spa University with a 2:1 in Environmental Biology, with focus on environmental management, environmental law and sustainable development.

She joins the CRR after being with Oakdene Hollins for over a year. She has worked on numerous projects assessing end-of-life options and waste management, including evaluation of refillables, utilisation of post-consumer floor coverings and determining the waste glass arisings and recycling rates in the hospitality sector. Her initial work in the CRR will include Corporate Clothing Reuse, and Sustainable Procurement.

Adrian Chapman MSci PhD MRSC

Adrian joins us from the University of Nottingham where he was a SWIFT Business Science Fellow.

With a combined MSci degree in Chemistry and a PhD in the field of supercritical CO2, Adrian has experience of technology transfer, managing industrial/academic collaboration and communicating science. Initially, Adrian’s role in the CRR will be to evaluate the remanufacturing potential in product groups including printing equipment and heavy lifting equipment.
