With an MSc in Physical Chemistry and a PhD in Industrial Metallurgy, both from Birmingham University, Trevor joined Oakdene Hollins Ltd in November 2005.
He previously worked for Gillette UK as a staff scientist engaged in research at the forefront of technology, eg reduced energy and utility consumption by the use of lasers and plasmas for non-solvent removal of contamination and surface modification of fragile components.
Trevor has 30 years' experience as a research and manufacturing applied electrochemist.
Hudai Kara BSc MSc DPhil MIMMM
Hudai joined us in 2007 with a DPhil in Materials (Ceramics) from the University of Oxford. He is a materials scientist and a metallurgist, experienced in the thermodynamic modelling of industrial processes, modelling oxide systems, process development and optimisation, materials characterisation and testing, and technology transfer.
As a recent consultant at Johnson Matthey, Hudai provided technical consultancy services to Anglo Platinum and JM worldwide. He liaised with National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and Mineral Industry Research Organisation (MIRO) on oxide database development for industrial processes.
For Oakdene Hollins, Hudai has analysed Titanium production costs, undertaken a study on the recycled content of glass and worked on a techno-economic and environmental evaluation of a novel lead battery recycling technology. He is also monitoring projects from the Zero Emission Enterprise call on behalf of Technology Strategy Board.
Ben Walsh MSci PhD MRSC
Ben joined us in 2005 from Nottingham University, where he was Business Science Fellow involved with collaboration between industry and academia. He has initiated and managed projects of varying size and complexity with new industrial clients.
Ben's PhD ('Automated Reactions in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide') followed on from his combined Bachelor/Masters degree in Chemistry. His work at Oakdene Hollins has included a major report on resource efficiency for Defra.
